April 2009: August Jay was born August 26th, 2008! He is the love of my life.
I got laid off at the Gallery and am struggling momentarily.
But am applying for school, I want to get my Masters in illustration
and get a teaching degree.
ALso looking for more venues to show my work.
Balancing making art and being a single mother.
July 2008: What happened between September 2007 and July 2008?
I got pregnant in December and have been spending my time building this baby
I moved to a larger space in April. I've been creating work incessantly ever since
Focusing on pulling my life together to provide a future for Eckes Junior
I've been getting a lot of great responses to my art
and it looks like I'll finally be exhibiting my work in Belgium next year.
I'm also focusing on reestablishing myself as an editorial illustrator
and I'm trying really hard to get my comics published in more papers.
Junior is expected to jump into this world at the end of August.
September 2007: I became the assistant at Galerie van der Mieden
May 2007 (Part 2):
Just got a 'Best Of' award from the SF Weekly for Sketch Tuesdays.
Installing an art show at the Foto Museum in Antwerp in which
the Art of Luc Tuymans is featured.

My friend Brad K. Alder is now hosting Sketch Tuesdays for me.
Plan on hosting a Sketch Event in San Francisco end of June at a different location.
Since March I've been an artist who 'lives and works in San Francisco and Antwerp'.
Life is Good can still be seen every week in the San Francisco Chronicle.
Going to APE next year to introduce my comics to a wider audience

Looking for a gallery in San Francisco to host an exhibit of artists who incorporate
text in their work
The exhibit I had with Porous Walker this past February at Receiver Gallery
was reviewed in Artweek Magazine

Plugging away at my Life is Good comic for The San Francisco Chronicle.
Check out the latest Mesh issue for more Porous Walker and I.
Working on the organization of 111@111: we invited over 111 artists to create
a piece that is 20x20". The show opens in December at 111 Minna Gallery.
November 21st: Sketch Tuesday at 111 Minna Gallery
October 2006:
Just took down a show I was in at City Hall with Rachell Sumpter and Alika Cooper.
Tonight is the 6th installment of 3rd Tuesday, Sketch Tuesday.
This is a monthly event I host/organize at 111 Minna Gallery.
I invite about 10 artists to come and draw live. Then they have
the opportunity to show and sell what they have created during the evening.
It's become a very fun event.
I'm showing with Porous Walker in February 2007 at Receiver gallery.
April 2006:

March 4th, 2006:
Mesh 13th issue release party at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco
Porous Walker, Brad K Alder, Paz de la Calzada, Chelah and others
will be drawing and having fun.
Mesh continues to publish my comics.

Launching Party of The San Francisco Chronicle's 96 hours.
Highlighting my single panel comic titled Life is Good.
This is taking place at 111 Minna Street Gallery from 9pm-2am
February 9th, 2006:
My comic, Life is Good, debuts in 96 hours, The San Francisco
Chronicle's new weekly entertainment insert that will come out on Thursdays.
Look for my comic in Mesh Magazine
January 2006: I started working at 111 Minna Street Gallery.
I'm curating some shows there and helping out anywhere I can.
I took out an illustration ad in Black Book's new publication called Raw.
This magazine format publication will be sent out to advertising agencies
from which I hope to get tons of work.
